13.06.2010 KTM's E3 "Knight Rider" on top on Saturday; third on Sunday in Poland KTM-supported factory rider David Knight, the newly crowned British Enduro Championship was on form at the E3 GP in Poland this weekend conquering the grass and sand and more than 1:20.00 of tests in two days of racing that rewarded him with a first and a third place.
But David did not have it all his own way with KTM Enduro Factory Racing's Simone Albergoni in excellent form on both days for two second places. On Saturday Knight was just 20 second ahead of Albergoni in the final reckoning, an occasion for an all Orange podium with KTM Germany's Marcus Kehr completing the podium. Marcus completed a great weekend of racing with a fifth place on Sunday. The two days of racing in Poland presented its share of challenges and included a ten minutes long cross test with its share of jumps and was different in character to next weekend's terrain in Slovakia where they will be faced with grass and mud instead of the sand and grass of this weekend. Knight and Albergoni lead the standings with French rider Christophe Nambotin back in third after a DNF on Saturday. "All in all I am very satisfied with the overall performance of all the KTM riders this weekend," said KTM team boss Fabio Farioli. "We picked up our share of podiums and there were some very close finishes."

13.06.2010 Two second places for KTM's Ivan Cervantes in Poland KTM Enduro Factory rider Ivan Cervantes faced off in the E2 GPs of Poland this weekend against his arch rival Finland's Mika Ahola to finish with two second place including a very close finish on day two.
Teammate Thomas Oldrati also had a strong weekend and was twice on the podium in third place, while KTM France rider Pierre Alexandre Renet wrapped up a great weekend for the Orange riders with a third and fourth place finish. Riders tackled very hard tests on sand and grass, surfaces that are not the most comfortable for Cervantes of Spain. On Saturday Ivan was not too fast in lap one of the race but played good catch up to finish second. Sunday was also eventful for the Spanish rider who crashed three times and still managed to finish within 0.8 seconds of the leader Ahola after one hour and 25 minutes of grueling tests over the Polish track. Cervantes trails Ahola by just 12 points in the overall standings and there is still a lot of racing left in the current season. While the competition between the two leaders is proving to be a cliff hanger it is hardly less exciting between the two KTM riders Oldrati and Renet. The Frenchman crashed on Saturday in the second lap but got the better of Oldrati in the final allowing him to take the podium with a lad of just 1.52 seconds. of E2.

13.06.2010 First career win for KTMs Eero Remes in E1 GP Poland KTM Enduro Factory Racing's Eero Remes, clearly feeling at home on the grass and sand in Kwidzyn, Poland put in a great weekend in Rounds 7 & 8 of the E1 World Championships to score his first career victory on Saturday and followed it up on Sunday with a second place.
E1 factory teammate Johnny Aubert, who has been troubled with an ear infection that forced him out of the second day's racing in the GP of Italy is regaining his health and put in two great races for two third place podiums. Fast Eero Remes "Eero was very fast this weekend," said KTM team boss Fabio Farioli. "These conditions were good for him and quite like at home in Finland. For sure also Johnny is feeling better even today than yesterday. He still had some heath problems on Saturday but today he won all the tests in the last two laps. We hope he will be completely fit for next weekend's round in Slovakia where it should be muddy and lots of grass, much the same as in France. It should suit him well," he said. Tough weekend racing Riders had a tough weekend on the sand and grass of the Polish course, which included a high speed cross test with plenty of jumps. Remes was understandably pleased with his victory on Saturday saying: "It's a great joy for me to win my first World Championship victory. I had a good race, except in the last cross test where I fell. I especially like the race conditions here, with the sandy soil." Remes and Aubert are currently second and third on the championship standings table. Taddy Blazusiak, KTM's Extreme Endurist factory rider who is fresh from his record fourth win in the notorious Red Bull Hare Scramble at Austria's Erzberg finished sixth on both days in front of his home crowd. Taddy has not competed in all the rounds of the championship. Santolino Strong in EJ Also racing this weekend were the EJ class and it was another opportunity for Lorenzo Santolino, the young rider supported by KTM Spain to continue to excel. Lorenzo finished the weekend with a 2-1 result. French rider Jeremy Joly denied Lorenzo his win on Saturday by just 23 hundredths of a second. Joly leads the championship standings by a single point from Lorenzo who, apart from his second place this weekend, has won all of his races except the season's opener. Second of three rounds for women To complete a very busy race program in Poland, the women competed in the second of three weekends of the newly inaugurated Women's Enduro World Cup. KTM riders Heike Petrick of Germany and Vanja Kollman of Sweden were third and fourth on day one while Kollman was second and Petrick was fifth on Sunday. Day One E1 1 Eero Remes, Finland, KTM 2.
